A boutique hotel located in Kaş, a small tourist town in the southern province of Antalya, has been selected as “boutique hotel of the year” by the Sunday Times.

The Deniz Feneri, or Lighthouse, which has been operating for three years on Kaş’ Çukurbağ peninsula, ranks first among the top 100 hotels in a list published by the U.K. newspaper.

The Kaş Tourism and Promotion Association held a ceremony in honor of the hotel’s success. The association awarded hotel owner Turan Doyuran with a medal, presented by Süleyman Yılmaz, the district governor of Kaş.

Speaking at the ceremony, Yılmaz said: “Those serving in all domains should certainly be awarded. The tourism sector is very important for Kaş, as everyone earns their living from the tourism sector in the town. This medal is given to Kaş and those living there.”
Noting that the hotel opened in 2007, Doyuran said: “I designed the interior and exterior decoration of the hotel myself. Gülgün Doyuran, my wife, has always stood by me and supported me. She has made some great contributions to this success.”

A weeklong, full-board accommodation at the Deniz Feneri, which has 27 rooms overlooking the sea, costs between 450 and 700 pounds, or 1,072 to 1,668 Turkish Liras.
